LUMBER KINGS

DIE KÖNIGE DER NUTZHOLZGEWINNUNG

Directed by Matthias Keilich

MONDAY JANUARY 15 4:30PM CASTRO

After years of traveling the world, amiable “loser” Krischan returns to Tanne, a working class village in Lower Harz, where no one is particularly happy about his return. Nevertheless, he decides to stay because he has an idea: Since all his old friends and colleagues know their way around trees and woodworking, why not host a lumberjack competition in Tanne? Everyone could benefit. After an initially cool reception, Krischan’s idea gains favor as his wit and charm transform a general sense of lethargy and despair into anticipation, action and hopefulness.
