WHOLETRAIN
Directed by Florian Gaag
TUESDAY JANUARY 16 9:15PM CASTRO
Filmed in Munich and Warsaw, Florian Gaag’s fast-paced feature debut is the first film that focuses exclusively on subway graffiti “writer” subculture. The four young writers who call themselves Keep Steel Burning (KSB) strive to maintain their currently top status—and are inevitably challenged by a rival “crew.” The subsequent face-off in style writing leads to conflict, and when the KSB set off to spray an entire commuter train—a “Wholetrain”—a chain of events changes all their lives. The original soundtrack, written and produced by the director, features new and exclusive performances by KRS One, Freddie Foxxx, O.C., Afu-Ra, Planet Asia, Grand Agent, Tame One and El Da Sensei.
