EVET, I DO!
EVET, ICH WILL!
Directed by Sinan Akkus
SUNDAY JANUARY 18 3:45PM CASTRO
A bridal shop clearance sale is the commonality that connects four couples in pre-wedding turmoil. In their day nearly sixty years ago, the Turkish shop owners had it easy; their marriage was arranged by their parents. But these days, parents are up against passion and cross-cultural complications: Emrah’s parents expect him to marry a nice Turkish girl. He loves Tim. Kurdish Coskun should not be in love with a Turkish Alawi girl. Dirk’s parents do not want him to love Özlem. And Salih, he has a green card issue. A good-humored comedy with the advice: Just say “evet”. It’s Turkish for “yes”. --Petra Wehle
