COME IN AND BURN OUT
SELBSTGESPRÄCHE
Directed by André Erkau
MONDAY JANUARY 19 1:30PM CASTRO
Sascha thinks he has a bright future as a TV presenter ahead of him. Adrian dreams of meeting a woman who will understand him and Maria hopes for a “real” job as an architect. But for the moment, they are all working – temporarily of course - at a call center. Their boss Harms tries to motivate his employees in the hard sell.
“Every call is a new change,” is his motto. But sales are poor and if the success rate doesn’t increase soon, layoffs will follow. While each one of them makes a living thanks to their ability to communicate with strangers, they all fail to bring that expertise to their personal lives.
Winner of the Max Ophüls prize, André Erkau’s debut film is based on the director’s own experience working in a call center.
